Pork Tocino Recipe

Pork Tocino Recipe:

Tools and Utensils:

Stainless mixing bowl

Meat processor or chopping board

Kitchen Knife (sharp)

Packaging materials (cellophane or styrophore)

Ingredients:

1 kl. Lean Pork Meat

3 1/2 teaspoon Iodize Salt

3/4 cup Brown Sugar

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon vetsin

1 teaspoon salt pepper or praque

2 teaspoon paprika powder

1 tablespoon Rum or Gin

1 teaspoon accord powder

1/4 cup pineapple juice or 7 up (for curing purposes)

Procedure:

Slice pork into thin sheets, 1/8 thickness. Combine all remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Apply evenly on each sheet of pork. Pile the pieces in a bowl and cover. Keep at room temperature for 24 hours or in the refrigerator for 3 days to cure. The slice maybe dried under the sum after curing for longer shelf-life or cook in a little amount of water until its own fat is extracted fry until done.

1 kilo malagkit

1/2 kilo white sugar

4 heads coconut

2 cups water

Anis and ginger for flavoring

Procedure:

Boil thick and thin coconut milk until oil extracted then remove the floating cream, when it comes to light brown for topping. Continue  boiling and add cooked rice of malagkit alternately with sugar. Cook until done.

1 cup Cassava, grated

5 cup water

1 cup sugar

1 cup milk, evaporated

Procedure:

Wash malagkit and drain

Add, cocoa, water, and boil, stirring constantly

Stir and cook 2 minutes more

Yields almost 6 cup champorado

Yesterday I looked-up about the different types of the flu, since it's a flu season, some people have started getting sick and have confirmed with the flu. Seasonal flu and swine flu or H1N1 has similar symptoms and you can even hardly guess which type of flu do you have, the seasonal flu is commonly not associated with diarrhea and vomiting however it is very common to children to have diarrhea and vomiting when they have  a seasonal flu and it's very rare to the adults. The swine flu is usually associated with that symptoms  (vomiting and diarrhea) especially on adults, but you cant' still guess if you have had a swine flu or seasonal flu because it sometimes exists on seasonal flu. Though the flues have similar symptoms but they have a different virus. And remember it's also included with cold, chill, headache, fatigue, weak, muscles pain symptoms. Since the flues have a different virus the swine flu  or H1N1 vaccine is different from seasonal flu. I watched several Elvis Presley concerts last night, and  I was amazed of his performance he was truly a king of rock and roll. When I was watching his  story and concert performance  last night he was a guy who had a unique personality. He was  cool and excellent singer, had a sense of humor, had a good heart, fun, and entertaining! His face of charisma had captured millions of women around the world . He is very handsome and always been a good looking singer ever! When I was watching his several concerts last night you can tell and witness how he was loved and adored with trillions of people especially women because of her fantastic look!   I'm one of his fan now (lol). Sad that I was not born yet when Elvis Presley Rocked, on 70s and it's very sad that he passed away at the early age of 46 years old huhuhu, that's very young!  I can't imagine how the world graved when he passed away. Yesterday January 8 was his birthday and people in America recognize this special day of him. I would say Elvis Presley  is remained a history and he will be remained in people's heart forever!

Ingredients:

1 kilo fresh cassava grated

2 cup sugar

2 cup coconut milk

2 tabespoon margarine

1 cup coco cream

1/2 cup sugar

2 tablespoon cornstarch

Procedure:

Combine cassave, sugar, coconut milk and margarine

Place in banana leaf lined baking, dish

Bake until dry

Pour over mixture of sugar, coco cream and cornstarch

Bake until brown, at 350 Fahrenheit

Sick from Winter Season?

What illnesses have you been experiencing  this winter season? I really hate winter especially the month of January and February. In winter season we usually get cold, cough, fever, or headache! So take a look of the ingredients and procedure below...

Ingredients:

1 ganta malagkit or sweet rice (soaked overnight)

8 coconuts

1 tablespoon salt

4 banana leaves

Procedure:

> Wash the malagkit or sweet rice

> Squeezed the grated coconut to get the milk

> Add salt and boil till almost cooked in caragay. Remove from fire

> Wrap about 1/2 tablespoon of the cooked malagkit in banana leaves, trying the two ends

> Cook again in deep container with enough water till left.

Haha, I have just heard this recipe from my friend, she is planning to cook this recipe soon because she says she miss this recipe a lot, since she left the Philippines she has never eaten this food again (lol). They have lots of Mexican food though, but the Mexican food has a big difference from any Filipino food, Chinese food is similar...Anyway I have got this recipe Putong Bumbong, filipinos it's your time to take a look,  the ingredients and the procedure are written below...

Ingredients:

3 tablespoon piruruting

1 cup malagkit

Procedure:

Soak in about 2 cups of water a few hours, then grind together. Wrap grind mixture on cheese cloth place in colander and put weight over it to hasten drying. When mixture is dry pass through a sieve. Fill bamboo puto tubes 3/4 full with dry mixture (fill lightly - do not pack) And steam in "puto bumbong" steamer. Remove from the tube by shaking off. Serve hot with grated coco and sugar.

OMG I am pretty sure for those who are currently living far away from Philippines they miss this Cassava Bibingka recipe. Now you don't need to be so dramatic because you can make it in home, just follow the ingredients and steps from the procedure. I m sure you can make it!

Ingredients:

1 cup grated fresh cassava

1/2 cup scrapped buko (young coco)

2 eggs

3 tablespoon melted shortening

4 tablespoon grated cheese

3/4 sugar

3/4 cup coco milk

1 tablespoon butter

Procedure:

Boat eggs and sugar, melted shortening  and coconut milk. Mix with cassava and young coco. Add 2 tablespoon grated cheese and mix well. Line round pan with banana leaves and pour in mixture. Bake in moderate oven. When almost done, brush with butter and sprinkle top with a little sugar and the remaining cheese. Continue baking until golden brown.

Filipino Spaghetti versus American Spaghetti!

Today I have got an spaghetti meal from a friend, it's so nice of her ! it's nice to feel that after almost 2 years of staying in United States  I've tasted my favorite Filipino spaghetti recipe again. It's so nice, I am so glad. I have been eating an American spaghetti style and it is very different in Filipino style. American spaghetti  style is salty while the Filipino spaghetti is sweetly Can you imagine from sweetly to salty (LOL). If I were ask to choose I would prefer the sweetly spaghetti of course because that is where I used to have (ha-ha) but I did not say that I don't like the America spaghetti it's good though, but still the sweeter is the best for me! In my opinion I think the Filipino spaghetti has a smaller calorie compare to an American spaghetti because American spaghetti style has more meat that has mixed on it compare to a Filipino spaghetti style. However, I am pretty sure most of Americans don't like the sweet spaghetti because they used to have a salty spaghetti (lol) So it's a vice versa (to a different culture). Well, why don't we enjoy the both spaghetti? As long as it's healthy!

Soak the rice for at least  4 hours  and grind  to stiff dough. Form into  small roll and flatten with finger. Drop into boiling water. When the float skim and drop in cold water to prevent from sticking to each other. Drain and serve with grated coconut and pounded and roasted lunga.

In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients (mixed together). Add chopped nuts. Then fold in creamed mixture and mashed banana.

Pour on a well greaned loaf pan bake in a preheated over with 350 degree fahrenheit for 45 minutes.

I enjoyed the New year's Countdown!

Have you enjoyed watching the countdown in your area?
